Angela was delighted to be invited to Waterloo Primary in Ashton to help pupils officially open their new forest school.

The outdoor facility was made possible by Lottery funding secured by PE teacher Miss Jenny Park.

The space – named Waterloo Wonderland – features a wooden outdoor classroom, a specially created garden, a seating area made out of carved tree stumps and space for the children to expand it with their own ideas.

It is hoped that the forest school will be opened up to children from other schools as well as local nurseries, playgroups and community groups in future.

Angela said: “Waterloo Wonderland is a fabulous place for the children to explore and learn in an environment that is totally different from their classroom. They can take pride in the forest school. It is theirs to enjoy and will be of great value to them as they progress through the school as well as for future children and hopefully, other members of the community. I was thrilled to be invited to officially open it with the Year 4 children.”
