Angela spent the morning with students at Ashton Sixth Form College to discuss the challenges faced by teachers.

She spoke about her plans for Labour’s National Education Service which promises cradle to grave learning opportunities that are free at the point of delivery.

The students present were a mix of trainee teachers, people on education related degree courses and men and women who already work within the education sector in support roles.

They were given the opportunity to ask questions on Further Education funding, Labour’s plans to scrap SATs and SEND provision.

Whilst at the Darnton Road college, Angela pledged her support to the national Raise the Rate campaign which aims to secure a significant increase in funding for sixth form students in the 2019 spending review.
