Angela met local driving instructors to hear their concerns about the proposed closure of Hyde Test Centre.

The closure was announced without consultation and will adversely affect both instructors ad learners across the constituency.

Angela joined forces with fellow Tameside MPs Jonathan Reynolds and Andrew Gwynne to write to the DVSA opposing the closure which is set to take place in April.

Their response said Hyde Test Centre represents poor value for money and that there are other test centres within their distance to travel criteria that could absorb capacity without reducing test capacity.

The instructors met with respresentatives from the DVSA but were told it was an information session rather than a chance to debate the issues.

Angela assured the instructors that she would continue to oppose the closure.
