Here is what I have been up to in the constituency recently.
It was my honour to be at the unveiling of a permanent memorial for Michelle Hodgkinson on Droylsden Canal.
Michelle’s family have shown immense dignity and courage since Michelle’s death in June 2023 and their wait for justice continues.
Thank you to the Canal & River Trust for their efforts to put this tribute in place.
I was delighted to attend the opening of Brickfields House in Henrietta Street.
Residents are already moving into the development of 42 affordable rent homes for over 55s built by housing association Southway Housing Trust.
Brickfields has replaced the former Emmanuel Court.
With work due to start to re-grout the sunken mineshaft on Camberwell Drive, I was grateful to the Coal Authority for holding a public meeting to keep residents updated.
The work will be disruptive for a few months but, once complete, offers a permanent solution.
