The Right Honourable Angela Rayner MP Representing Ashton-under-Lyne (including Audenshaw, Droylsden and Dukinfield)

It felt absolutely fantastic to address Labour Party Conference as Deputy Prime Minister. We are now in power and we can start to implement the things that are necessary to get this country back to where it needs to be. Change has begun!

It was my pleasure and privilege to be asked to officially open the brand new outdoor terrace at Ashton Cricket Club.
I was joined by Tameside Council Leader Ged Cooney and local Councillors Joyce Bowerman and Vimal Choksi.
I was delighted to submit a supportive letter when the club were seeking planning permission and funding for the terrace so it was great to see their vision come to life.

I always enjoy my visits to St Michael’s and All Angels Church when I attend the annual Christmas Concert and the Remembrance Sunday service.
The church—which is a local landmark—opened it’s doors to anyone who wanted to learn more about it’s history as part of it’s Heritage Weekend.
I took part in a fascinating tour to take a closer look at the architecture and stained glass windows.
