Angela spent a day visiting the people and places that make her constituency such a wonderful place.
First stop was Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Primary where she was put through her paces with the young female footballers before presenting the school with an award from the FA for boosting the sport amongst girls.
Angela popped into Willow Wood Hospice to meet staff and talk to patients about the excellent care they receive. She said: “It’s always an honour and a privilege to visit this wonderful place. The staff are always so welcoming and positive and they create such a calm and peaceful environment for those staying there and their families.”
Portland Basin Museum was next on the agenda and Angela really enjoyed the exhibits which showcase local life in days gone by.
The popular attraction has shops, a pub and even a school room from Tameside’s Victorian days as well as a thriving education centre for local children to enjoy and explore.
The last port of call was a trip aboard the East Manchester Community Boat Project which sets sail from just outside the museum at Portland Basin.
Secretary Sue Steventon told Angela all about the trips they run for local businesses, schools and charity groups.
