Angela spent time visiting the various Band Contests taking place across Tameside. She went to Ashton United, Ashton Rugby Club and Tame Valley before finishing the night at Stalybridge Labour Club.
She said: “The annual Band Contest is one of my favourite events and we were treated to a glorious day in the sunshine while we enjoyed the brass. It was great to see so many families out making the most of the occasion.”
When local schools visit Parliament, Angela always makes the effort to meet up with them to show them around. Audenshaw Primary’s School Council were the most recent visitors.
Angela said: “I love having my local schools in London for a visit. The Audenshaw Primary kids were very interested in how Parliament works and particularly keen to hear more about Larry the Cat.”
Angela paid a visit to Mohammad Jobayed Hosen at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, who’s Manchester base is in Droylsden.
The last stop of the day was a visit to Ashton Fire Station where Angela had a closer look at the equipment used to save lives and protect people and hear the officers explain more about their role and some of the challenges they face.
