Angela was delighted to visit People First Tameside, a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities.
The committee – which includes members with learning disabilities – manage and direct the charity and employ a strong, experienced and dedicated staff team.
The charity supports members to speak up for themselves, promoting independence, self-confidence and to follow their dreams, wishes and life aspirations.
They run a number of projects including: a programme of Social Activities, Day Services, Training for School Children and Professionals in Hate Crime and Disability Awareness, Information and Advice services, and an independent living skills programme.
Group members took the opportunity to ask Angela about a range of issues including housing, crime and foreign affairs.
